אוחילה

אוחילה לאל הוא פיוט שנאמר בתפילת ראש השנה כרשות לאמירת פיוטי מלכויות זכרונות ושופרות ובתפילת יום הכיפורים כרשות לאמירת סדר העבודה.

הפיוט כולל ארבעה טורים ללא חרוז הפותחים כולם באות א'. הפיוט נחתם בשרשרת פסוקים שהרכבה המדויק משתנה בין המנהגים אך כוללת בדרך כלל את:

לְאָדָם מַעַרְכֵי לֵב וּמֵה' מַעֲנֵה לָשׁוֹן (משלי טז:א), ה' שְׂפָתַי תִּפְתָּח וּפִי יַגִּיד תְּהִלָּתֶךָ (תהלים נא:יז), יִהְיוּ לְרָצוֹן אִמְרֵי פִי וְהֶגְיוֹן לִבִּי לְפָנֶיךָ ה' צוּרִי וְגֹאֲלִי (תהלים יט:טו).
זהותו של מחבר הפיוט אינה ידועה, אולם מתפוצתו הרבה וחוסר החריזה שבו, דבר שהיה נהוג אצל פייטנים קדומים, ניתן להסיק שהוא עתיק ביותר. בדומה לפיוטים אחרים שנאמרים על ידי שליח הציבור בתפילות הימים הנוראים, כגון "מסוד חכמים ונבונים" ו"הנני העני ממעש", משמשת התפילה מעין בקשת רשות לשאת תפילה (מתוך ויקיפדיה)

השנה בימים הנוראים, נראה שיהיה קשה יותר למצוא את המילים הנכונות להגיד ולהתפלל לה'. אנו מבקשים מה' שנצליח לבטא באמת את מה שבמערכי ליבנו . מבקשים שה' יפתח את הפה שלנו, ואולי גם את הלב.

ירון הי"ד מאוד אהב את השיר הזה, שהפך במנגינה של הרב הלל פלאי למעין המנון של הימים הנוראים. הסרטון המצורף הוא מתוך אירוע שירי ימים נוראים לזכרו של ירון בקהילת שבטי ישראל ברעננה (עם שי ברק ותזמורתו, חברי *כיפה לייב*, ובניצוחו של רפי סנדלר), שם גדל.

Ochila

Ochila is a medieval piyyut of unknown authorship, recited on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur during Mussaf.
The piyyut comprises four unrhymed lines, each beginning with the letter aleph. After the piyyut various Biblical verses are recited, including:

A man may arrange his thoughts, But what he says depends on Hashem (Mishlei 16:1), Hashem, open my lips, and let my mouth declare Your praise (Tehillim 51:17), May the words of my mouth and the prayer of my heart be acceptable to You, Hashem, my rock and my redeemer (Tehillim 19:15).
The identity of the paytan is unknown, but from the piyyut's wide propagation and lack of rhyme, common to the earliest piyyutim, we may conclude that it dates to the pre-Classical period. Similar to other piyyutim recited by the cantor on the High Holy Days, such as Misod Hakhamim uNvonim and Hineni heAni meMa'as, the piyyut asks God for permission to pray on behalf of the congregation. This year, during the Yamim Noraim, it seems like it is going to be harder to find the right words to say and pray. We ask Hashem for success in expressing what is really in our hearts. We ask Hashem to open our mouths and maybe even our hearts.

Yaron Hy”d loved this song, which became somewhat of an anthem for these days, in the tune of Rav Hillel Peli*. The attached video is from a Yamim Noraim function (with *Shai Barak and his band, Kippalive and produced by *Rafi Sandler*) in memory of Yaron at Kehillat Shivtei Yisrael in Ra’anana, where he grew up.
