Mud Lake is a 84 acre lake located in Jefferson County. It has a maximum depth of 22 feet. Fish include Panfish and Northern Pike. The lake's water clarity is low.

The Sandhill Station State Campground has 15 walk-in, tent-only campsites nestled in secluded oak savanna. During the summer - wellwater and vault toilets are available in the campground and showers are available at the Glacial Drumlin State Trail Headquarters in Lake Mills. Firewood is not sold at this campground but is available from local vendors.

15 walk-in campsites are nestled in a secluded oak savannah one mile south of Lake Mills on Mud Lake Road. Drinking water and toilets are available in the campground. Showers are available at the Glacial Drumlin Headquarters. Enjoy fishing on Mud Lake and wake to the call of the sandhill cranes!

Nestled in a secluded oak savanna one mile south of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on Mud Lake Road. Well water and pit toilets are available in the campground and showers at the Sandhill Station Campground in Lake Mills.

Sites that are not reserved are available on a first-come, first-served basis all year. There is a self-registration station near the entrance by the parking lot. After finding an unoccupied site, you must fill out a self-registration envelope in the self-registration station, put the camping fee in the envelope, remove the top copies, and place the envelope in the steel box at the registration station. Fasten the second copy at the campsite post.
