Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says it is obvious China is “totally rattled” by talks to expand AUKUS to include India and Japan.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman claimed AUKUS was driven by “Cold War thinking”.

“The combination of Australia, India and Japan … they hate it,” Mr Cater told Sky News host James Morrow.
