The Massive Mindset Shift You Need to Go from Being an Individual Contributor into a Leadership Role

Quick video from St. Louis Lambert this morning as I head out to lead a two-day workshop for a group of selling-sales leaders (player/coaches). Prepping for this session along with what’s in Chapter 2 of The First-Time Manager was the inspiration for tackling this big topic.

It’s a huge move that requires a massive mindset shift when you go from individual contributor/star sales person into a leadership role.

Selfish to Selfless.
From responsible for one to responsible for many.
Winning on your own to winning through your people.

And while this is an enormous change that new managers must master, the reality is that people who have the dual role of both selling/driving their own results/production and with leading the sales team, these people have to make this shift almost everyday and continually and bounce back-and-forth depending on which role they are fulfilling at the moment!
