රිදී විහාරයෙන් හුලංගල ට… හුලංගලින් දේදුගලට.
"අයියේ අපි මීලගට යන්නේ කොහෙද..?" මාගේ කුතුහලය මුසු වූ ප්‍රශ්ණය යොමු වූයේ අනුර අයියාටයි. "දිනේෂ් අපි යමු හුලංගල දිහාවට.. ඒ විතරක් නෙමෙයි හුලංගල තියෙනවා කවුරුත් නොයන තැනක්.. " ඔහු මද සිනහවක් සමග නැවත වතාවක් පවසා සිටියේ "දිනේෂ් ව මුන ගැහිලා කථා කරන්න Mr රැඩ්ලිත් එන කථාවක් කිව්වා.. " Mr රැඩ්ලි යනු සෙම්බුවත්ත නම් සංචාරක ඉසව්ව සංචාරකයන්ට දායාද කල සහ දැනට හුලංගල/සේලගම තේ වතු භාරව කටයුතු කරණ ජේෂ්ඨ වතු අධිකාරී තුමා. මේ පොඩි මට මේ රට චෙනුවෙන් නිහඩ සේවයක් කල එතුමාව මුන ගැසීමත් සතුටක්. ඉතිං කුතුහලය පිරි මනසින් වැහි වතුර එහා මෙහා යන ඉදිරිපස වීදුරුවට දෑස් යොමු කලේ මාර්ගයේ සුන්දරත්වය විද ගැනීමටයි.
වර්ශාව මධ්‍යයේ ම අප හුලංගල කඳු මුදුණට ලගා වන විට රාත්‍රි හතට ආසන්න වී තිබුණි. ගැටලුවකි.. කඳු වැටිය කෙලවරට වන්නට ඇති ගල් මතින් පහලට ගලා හැලෙන දිය දහරා නිසාවෙන් ඒ මත කදවුරු බැදීම, කුඩා දිය ඇල්ලක් මැද කදවුරු බැන්දා හා සමානය. අනෙක් අතින් තණකොල මත වතුර පිරී අඟලක් පමණ මඩ තට්ටුවකින් පිරී ගොසිනි. තවමත් පෙර පරිද්දෙන්ම වර්ශාව කඩා හැලෙන්නේ අප මේ අහියෝගයට මුහුණ දිය යුත්තේ සොබාදහමෙන් කිසිදු සහයෝගයක් ලබා නොදෙන පරිසරයක බව හගවමිනි.
කෙසේ වෙතත් කඳු මුදුනේ අධික හුලගත් සමග එන මහ වැස්සට තෙමෙමින්, හිරිගඬු පිපෙන තරම් සීතලක, එක් වරම කකුල් දිගේ ඉහලට බඩ ගාන පනහක පමණ කූඩැල්ලන් කංඩායමකට මුහුණ දෙමින් කදවුරු බැදීම ආරම්භ කලේ, තණකොල තීරුවත් ගල් මතුපිටත් අතර පිහිටි උස් භූමියකයි. වෙනදාට වඩා කාලයක් කදවුරු බැදීමට ගත වූයේ වර්ශාවෙන් සහ මඩින් තොරව කූඩාරම ප්‍රවේශම්කාරීව අටවා ගැනීම අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය වූ කරුණක් නිසාවෙනි.
කදවුරු බැදීමෙන් අනතුරුව රාත්‍රි ආහාරය සකස් කර ගැනීම මීලග අභියෝගය විනි. මක්නිසාද යත්, මෙවර රැගෙන පැමිණි කූඩාරම් දෙක තුල ආහාර පිසීමට හෝ ගිණි දැල්වීමට නොහැකි නිසාවෙනි. යම් හෙයකින් ගිණි දැල්වුවහොත්, බඩ ගින්න සනසාගැනීම පිණිස ඩොලර් කන්දකට ගිනිතැබුවා වැනිය. කෙසේ වෙතත් අවසානයේ, අනුර අයියාගේ ජීප් රථයේ පසුපස කොටස ආහාර පිසීම සදහා සූදානම් කරගත්තේ, කඳු වැටිය කෙලවර ඇති දිය පහරකට ගොස් සියලු දෙනා සීතල වතුරෙන් ඇග පත සෝදාගැනීමෙන් පසුවයි.
මෙසේ සූදානම් කරගත් රාත්‍රි ආහාරය ගෙන කූඩාරම් වලට ගොඩ බට වී, නින්දට වැටුනේ හෙට දිනයේ හුලංගලට හිමිදිරිය කෙසේ නම් සුන්දරත්වයක් රැගෙන ඒවිදැයි යන සිතුවිල්ල මනස තුල ජනිත කරවමිනි.
හිමිදිරි උදෑසන කඳු මුදුනේ අප දුටු සුන්දරත්වයත්, හුලංගල සිට දේදුගල දක්වා ගමන් කොට එහි ගත කල දින දෙකත්, මාතලේ සෙම්බුවත්ත සහ හුලංගල නිර්මාණය කිරීමට ප්‍රධාන වූ ප්‍රධාන වතු අධිකාරි රැඩ්ලි මහතාත් සමග ඔහු ඉදි කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන අලුත් නිර්මාණය නැරඹීමටත් මීලග සිකුරාදා මුනගැහෙමු.

The journey starts at Silver Temple (Ridi Viharaya) and goes to
Hulangala and Dedugala
Silver Temple is one of those places where the monks have prioritised nature, wildlife and peacefulness.
“Brother, where are we heading next ?” My question was to Anura aiya. Let’s go to Hulang-gala; there are hidden places in Hulang-gala that no one has visited before. Also, there is a surprise for you. Dinesh, Mr . Radley is waiting to meet you and chat. That was Anura aiya’s response.
At this moment, my hopes were grown. However, when we left the Sliver Temple and began our journey to the next destination, it was five o’clock already. It was a continuous rain thought .. rain took its breaks, but when it started again, it was heavier than before. Are we the first crazy bunch to climb Hulang-gala in this heavy rain? I joyfully asked Anura aiya when he was carefully driving through the rain. Dinesh, however, this is going to be my first time climbing to Hulan-gala in this weather .. he made all five laugh, and in my mind, now I think we took the challenge ahead of us too easily.
When the Jeep took its turn to “The Selagama tea estate, it was pitched black and was almost tricky to find the way. Adding on this heavy rain has turned the small water stream to aggressive once. In this condition, only an experienced and calm driver can get his task completed.
It’s almost 7 pm, and we just reached the top of the hill with this wild weather. It was hard to lay our tents on top of the rock as the rock had turned into a waterfall with this weather. On the other hand, there was about 1inch of water on the turf, and it was already full of mud. Yet the rain continued, and we faced this challenge without any support from Mother Nature.
Somehow we managed to lay out our tent on a top area on the turf with many difficulties. With stormy weather and around 50 leaches climbing onto legs simultaneously, it was not an easy task.
Another challenge is how we will prepare our dinner with these conditions. This time Anura aiya’s Jeep gave us the solution. We all cleaned up from the nearby water stream and started preparing our dinner on the back of the Jeep.
After dinner, we went to sleep thinking about how beautiful the sunrise would be.
With the chirping of birds, I work up with a peaceful mind.. weather is calm now .. the relaxed and stunning atmosphere which we saw that morning, and the rest of the journey from Hulang-gala to Dedugala and Mr Radley’s innovations are with the vlog.
