Creamed peas on toast. An oldie but a goodie!
Simple and inexpensive. You can jazz it up as much as you like.
This is also a 'small' batch. You can increase it as much as you need.
PLUS a bonus recipe at the end of the description

Béchamel or white sauce:
2 cups milk (I used a combo of 2% and half and half)
4 tablespoons butter
5 tablespoons flour
salt and pepper to your taste

Peas (I used frozen peas)
Bread for toast

Possible additions:
bacon bits
cheese
ham pieces

Melt butter in saucepan over low/medium heat
Add the flour with a whisk and let simmer a bit to take away flour taste
When thickened, add the amount of peas you would like.
Put on top of toast.
Add a salad and you are set!

Hamburger Stretch
1 pound hamburger
2 cups oatmeal
small onion grated
1 egg
Mix and season to taste.
You could also add veggies and top with mashed potatoes like a shepherds pie.
Bake at 350 degrees 30 minutes to one hour until done.
This is where the recipe ends. But you could make meatballs, a meat loaf.
I would suggest putting the meat in a pan (9x13 inch?)
