The Catherine Palace is a Rococo palace in the town of Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo) which is located in 24km (15mi) south from the center of St Petersburg, Russia. A former summer residence of the Russian Imperial Family.

The Catherine Palace was founded in 1717 and built in 1756 by the design of an architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli.

The Amber Room is one of the most famous rooms on The Catherine Palace. The main amber artworks were made in the beginning of 18th century in Prussia and in 1716 gifted to Peter The Great by the King Frederick William I. In 1756 moved to Tsarskoye Selo.

During WWII, the Amber room was hijacked and still it's unknown where is the original Amber Room. However, in 2003 the Amber room was completely re-built. The restoration process lasted for 24 years since 1979.

In April, 2021, The Catherine Palace works as the museum from 10am to 6pm (last admission at 4.45pm).
