The Ganges River is one of the busiest, wildest rivers on Earth. You’ve got Asian elephants wading through the shallows, marsh crocodiles lurking under the surface, rhinos grazing in the floodplains, and even river dolphins cutting through the muddy water. It’s a hotspot of life, big life.
But look closer, and you notice something’s missing. There’s no hulking, semi-aquatic giant splashing through the shallows, no one dominating the water’s edge with sheer aggression. No hippos.
So why are they only in Africa?
