SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR THE SPONSORED TEMPORARY PARENT VISA

On 11 May 2021, Josh Frydenberg MP Federal Member for Kooyong Treasurer of Australia Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party announced Australia’s 2021-22 Federal Budget speech. In his budget speech, the Treasurer announced that the Australian Government would extend the validity of the Sponsored Temporary Parent visa (subclass 870) by 18 months for individuals who are unable to utilize their visas because of the COVID-19 restrictions.

This unusual consideration comes into effect in July 2021 and is the latest COVID-19 concession announced by the Australian Government.
