World "Premiere": All 3 Fritz Kreisler's "Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen" in transcriptions for piano

Описание к видео World "Premiere": All 3 Fritz Kreisler's "Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen" in transcriptions for piano

This collage contains the two piano roll recordings of Fritz Kreisler's "Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen" No. 1 "Liebesfreud" & No. 2 "Liebesleid" in the well known transcriptions by Sergei Rachmaninov (played by Rachmaninov himself on Ampico piano rolls, in a digitally remastered recording), this time - in a world first - coupled with the "missing" transcription of No. 3 "Schön Rosmarin" which was written by the Hungarian pianist and composer Emeric Stefaniai (1885 - 1959), and played here on a piano roll recording made by the French pianist Maurice Dumesnil in 1924.

This video enables us for the first time to enjoy all three masterful piano transcriptions in the original order they were intended by the violinist and composer Fritz Kreisler, and as they were published under "3 Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen" ("Old Viennese Dances") in 1905.

Hopefully, this video may entice any pianists young or old to perform all three pieces together, either in a recital or on a record. The reconstructed and edited score of Stefaniai's "Schön Rosmarin" transcription can be found here:
