Saint Felix of Valois was a French hermit and co-founder of the Trinitarians, established in 1198 with Saint John of Matha. Dedicated to redeeming Christian captives from Muslim enslavement, they collected alms and prayed perpetually. Despite a life of solitude, Saint Felix embraced the mission passionately. His eremitical lifestyle reflected contemplative spirituality and deep commitment to charity. Pope Urban IV canonized him in 1262.
