The success of this film will be directly proportional to infusing energy into his fans with regard to his political entry. It’s crucial for director Pa Ranjith, as well because of his previous movie ‘Kabali’ that didn’t turn out to be a blockbuster and didn’t mark the return of Rajinikanth in ‘Baasha’ kind of avatar.

Kaala show started with protests in Dharavi when Vishnubhai (Sampath Raj) trying to grab the place from poor. Simple intro for Kaala without usual starry hype. Rajini plays Cricket with slum kids in intro scene. Vishnubhai backs out when Kaal Saet enters the protests scene. Vishnubhai loses the Dharavi election fight but backed by the party big head Nana Patekar. There’s a disagreement between Kaala and Zareena when Tenders being called to remove Dharavi slum to build posh houses etc. Kaala suspects a hidden hand in the proposal. Murder attempt on Kaala triggers violence in Dharavi. Hari Daada (Nana Patekar) enters Dharavi to warn Kaala. Hari Daada (Nana Patekar) started his revenge attack on Kaala.
