The Execution Of Shoko Asahara - The Japanese Doomsday Cult Leader

In the recent years executions are still being carried out inside of different countries to punish the most brutal criminals. However in Japan in 2018, one of the most infamous cult leaders and condemned prisoners was executed on the gallows. Shoko Asahara was the leader of the cult Aum Shinrikyo who were a doomsday cult. They began to stockpile a huge amount of weapons and carried out a number of murders and abductions.

But Aum Shinrikyo's most infamous attack occurred in 1995 on the Tokyo Subway as they released deadly Sarin Gas into the trains and because of this a number of people died. But Shoko Asahara was later arrested and was sentenced to death for the crimes of his followers and he was executed alongside a number of them.
