No-Toroid Joule Thief Operating Frequency (4K)

What is the operating frequency of a no-toroid joule thief? The typical joule thief resonates around 12kHz to 26kHz. Let's find out.

This is a flyback oscillator which allows a 1.5v LED to be lit by a dying / dead 1.5 volt battery. Most use a toroid coil which is bigger and likely will waste more power than the SMD inductors.

20220917: Update - By running the power input through my digital voltmeter while measuring milliamps, the SMD joule thief acted like any other JT working from 0.2v to 1.0 volts! It seems it is not oscillating stably. My guess is that my original SMD JT had 2 different inductors where this one has both the same, hence it does not auto resonate easily.
Toroid JT
1v == 27mA
0.7v == 13 to 15 mA (not stable)
0.5v == 5.5mA
SMD JT ver 2.0 with power via the digital volt meter
1v == 24 mA
0.8v == 13mA
0.7v == 8.2 mA
0.5v == 1.45 mA
0.2v == 0.58 mA

20220919: Update - Running the toroid JT from a 1.5v battery through a variable resistor to control the amps, the Toriod JT oscillated between 170kHz and 780kHz. My "laboratory grade" power supply is adding some mains frequency to the equation.

Why build a "no coil" Joule Thief: Fewer parts, small size., no coil to wind. Most of these parts can be found in broken routers, radios, etc.
