मैं आज साकेत की रामलीला देखने गया। मुझे बहुत जिज्ञासा थी कि अगर मैं खुद एक रामलीला शुरू करना चाहूँ, तो इसके लिए कौन-कौन सी व्यवस्थाएँ करनी पड़ेंगी, कितना धन लगेगा और कितने लोगों की ज़रूरत होगी। वहाँ मैंने आयोजक मंडल के प्रमुख से बात की। उन्होंने बताया कि “श्री धार्मिक रामलीला, दक्षिण दिल्ली” साउथ दिल्ली की सबसे बड़ी रामलीला है। इसे सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित करने में लगभग 1.25 करोड़ रुपये का खर्च आता है। इसके लिए कई तरह की परमिशन चाहिए होती हैं, जिनमें स्थानीय निकाय से अनुमति सबसे अहम है। रोज़ाना सफ़ाई की पूरी व्यवस्था होती है और कचरा उठाने के लिए कई मिनी ट्रक मैदान से निकलते हैं। यहाँ लगभग 200 लोगों की टीम काम करती है, जिनमें से 100 लोग कोर टीम में शामिल हैं। हर सुबह मीटिंग होती है, जिसमें पिछले दिन की कमियों और गड़बड़ियों पर चर्चा कर सुधार की योजना बनाई जाती है। समिति के सदस्य रात के 3 बजे तक घर पहुँचते हैं और सुबह 11 बजे तक वापस मैदान में मौजूद रहते हैं। राकेश गुलिया जी से बातचीत में पता चला कि सुरक्षा सबसे बड़ी ज़िम्मेदारी है। इसके लिए कई सुरक्षा एजेंसियाँ तैनात रहती हैं और महिला बाउंसर भी मौजूद होती हैं। खाने-पीने की पूरी व्यवस्था रहती है — चाट-पकोड़ी और अन्य भोजन उपलब्ध होता है। रात 11 बजे से 1 बजे तक बफे लगता है ताकि सभी कार्यकर्ता खाना खाकर ही घर जाएँ। रामलीला का आयोजन वाकई किसी छोटे काम जैसा नहीं है। यहाँ पूरा प्रोडक्शन हाउस सक्रिय रहता है, जिसे कलाकारों की व्यवस्था, लाइव प्रसारण, संगीत और मंचीय संचालन की ज़िम्मेदारी दी जाती है। पिछले साल का एक अनुभव भी साझा किया गया — उस समय लगभग 12 लाख रुपये की कमी हो गई थी, जिसे सभी सदस्यों ने मिलकर पूरा किया। सच कहें तो, रामलीला कराना बेहद कठिन कार्य है। इसके लिए सिर्फ धन ही नहीं, बल्कि समर्पित टीम, अनुशासन, समय और निरंतर मेहनत भी ज़रूरी है।
Today, I went to see the Ramleela in Saket. I was very curious to know what arrangements are required, how much money is needed, and how many people are involved if I ever wanted to start a Ramleela myself.

There, I spoke with the head of the organizing committee. He told me that “Shri Dharmik Ramleela, South Delhi” is the biggest Ramleela in South Delhi. Organizing it successfully costs around ₹1.25 crore.

Multiple permissions are required, among which permission from the local authorities is the most important. Daily cleanliness is maintained, and several mini trucks are used to clear the garbage every day.

Around 200 people work in the team, out of which 100 are core team members. Every morning, a meeting is held to discuss the shortcomings and issues of the previous day and to plan improvements. Committee members usually return home at 3 a.m. and are back at the ground by 11 a.m.

During a conversation with Mr. Rakesh Gulia, I learned that security is one of the most crucial responsibilities. Multiple security agencies are deployed, and female bouncers are also present. Proper food arrangements are made — chaat, pakoras, and other meals are available. A buffet is served between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., ensuring that all workers eat before heading home.

The organization of a Ramleela is no small task. A dedicated production house is engaged, responsible for arranging the artists, live broadcasting, music, and stage management.
One incident from last year was also shared — there was a shortfall of about ₹12 lakh, which the members collectively managed to cover.
Truly, organizing a Ramleela is not easy. It requires not just money but also a dedicated team, discipline, time, and continuous hard work.
