The reason is, this gemstone is one of the most incredible and priceless objects of Nature, Beauty, Rarity and Master Expertise.

We spent a whole year creating this movie. Our crew of professional filmmakers flew all the way to Luc Yen in Northern Vietnam to dig deep in the Spinel mine; visited Yavorskyy’s workshop and art gallery in Bangkok; attended the largest Gem & Jewelry Exhibition in Hong Kong to see for ourselves. We tried to deliver the beauty of the stone at its best. You appreciate watching an artifact of unquestioned beauty which is only one in the whole world.

Vlad Yavorskyy’s voice in the movie:
“One day you realize that many other people have many beautiful things and you don’t have anything. And you realize one thing, you want to have it too. But you realize most incredible and most interesting things are never for sale.
I was collecting minerals and gems since 30 years back, I visited every single possible mine, including other continents - Africa, Asia, America. After 10 years of intensely collecting and visiting the mines, I realized: my thing is Spinel. So I was pretty much going around the world, buying all Spinels I could come across. It was above any diamond feeling, because it’s big, it’s colorful, it’s beautiful, and after you cut and polish it well, it’s bright.
Luc Yen Blue Spinels are not simply available. It’s the most unique material on the planet. And this color cannot compare, cannot mix with any other color, because it’s the most unique Cobalt Blue Color which doesn’t have any grey or blackness inside: it’s a pure blue color.
There are many mines of diamonds, sapphire and ruby on the planet, including Australia, including Africa, America, Asia. Spinel happens to be only in a few places on the planet. In only six countries: Tanzania, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Burma, Tajikistan, but there is only one single mine for the Cobalt Blue Spinel on the planet, and that is Vietnam, Luc Yen.
Twelve years ago, local gem hunters found gem gravel of this size, and that was probably the most dramatic and most important discovery ever happened in Vietnam.
I heard about this story, but it never happened that somebody showed me this stone.I was dreaming about it from many years before and had a hope that one day this stone would come to me.
So one gloomy, rainy day during a show, a good friend came to me and said ‘Vlad, I have this stone.’ And I took the stone and I put it in my pocket. And he says, ‘can I have my stone back?’ And I said, ‘I’ve bought it already.’
And second to this was a stone only 2-carats size, and that’s it. And the demand is so strong, people call from London, from New York, from Glasgow, and you know what they ask? ‘Do you have a blue spinel? We need it.’ And I say, ‘Sorry guys, I have, but only one.
Sometimes dreams come true. And this gemstone, particularly this rare sample of Mother Nature, by this moment has been seen only by five people in the world, besides the guy who found it in the mine of course. And so you guys have a unique opportunity to see this stone alive… in the camera of course. Loupe-clean and perfectly cut eggy shape. This color is hard to describe. You can see the red flashes, the dispersion, but most importantly you fall into this blue. The blue of the deepest ocean, of the sky, of the universe… it’s a fairytale blue. The most important thing is that this stone is only one on the entire planet. There is no stone like this anywhere’s else in the world.”
