What started as a simple recovery turned into chaos…

This client slid off the infamous gravel route I covered in a previous video. When it’s wet, it becomes impossibly slick — like black ice. You can’t walk on it, let alone drive on it. No traction. No grip. Doesn’t matter what tyres or vehicle you’re in.

He ended up stuck in a ditch on his way to a client. With ‪@DieterPey‬ away on a Cape Route Rally trip, I went out to help on my own — only to slide into the ditch myself.

The recovery turned into a mission of its own:
⚠️ I had to winch myself out first
⚠️ Then my winch gave up completely
⚠️ It was time to phone for backup, Erich from ‪@supermacgarage99‬

After a long, muddy fight — and some serious back-and-forth — we eventually got both vehicles out. But wow… this one tested everything.
