As large numbers of tourists and locals gather in Goa to welcome the New Year, the Traffic Police have appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure smooth movement and avoid congestion. Traffic personnel have been deployed at major tourist locations, and additional parking spaces have been identified to address parking-related issues.

Restrictions have been imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles, while no-entry zones and one-way traffic systems have been introduced at select locations to regulate traffic flow.

Traffic Superintendent Prabodh Shirvaiikar has urged citizens to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, use seat belts while driving cars, and strictly avoid drunk driving while celebrating December 31. The Traffic Police have also issued a special traffic advisory in view of the New Year celebrations.
