In this tutorial we will solve the php mcrypt error that appears when working with other software or libraries like magento or laravel.

Step for Step:

1.) install homebrew (brew.sh):
/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Hom...)"
2.) install xcode-select (https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/...
xcode-select --install

3.) install php5.6 + mcrypt:
brew install homebrew/php/php56-mcrypt

4.) navigate to the webservers configuration file(standard apache on mac OS X 10.11): cd /etc/apache2

5.) open the config file:
sudo nano httpd.conf

6.) enter computer password

7.) search for: LoadModule php5_module libexec/apache2/libphp5.so

8.) comment this line with a #: #LoadModule php5_module libexec/apache2/libphp5.so

9.) paste new directory to the php5.6 that we have installed with homebrew

10.) press cmd+X, then Y, and enter

11.) restart your webserver
