During their match in 1987 at Velez Sarfield in Buenos Aires, Australia are awarded a controversial try by Kiwi referee Keith Lawrence.

After the Australian centre Brett Papworth hacks ahead the winger Ian Williams touches down for a try, but he was clearly ahead of the kicker and offside and also had a foot out of play as he touched the ball down, which led to the crowd booing and the Pumas players including their legend and captain Hugo Porta getting upset with the referee.

Australia took the lead at this point, but the decision didn't effect the result in the end as Argentina's replacement winger Cristian Mendy sidestepped the Wallabies full back in the final minute to secure a 27-19 win for his country against Australia.
