Kayak Fishing for Smallmouth Bass on Lake Siskiyou

After out outing on the Williamson River in Southern Oregon my buddy Dean and I headed South to Northern California for some Smallmouth Fishing. Our destination, Lake Siskiyou. Lake Siskiyou is a gorgeous mountain lake with crystal clear water and a ton of Smallmouth Bass. There are also Rainbow and Brown Trout in the fishery but it is dominated by Smallmouth.

It took me awhile to figure out what the fish were after but once I did I started catching. I even caught a gorgeous Smallmouth that was about 17 inches long and a solid 2.5 pounds. That fish fought great, unfortunately I did not catch it on camera.

Lake Siskiyou also has a really nice campground/resort, it looks like a really cool spot to stay for a weekend and I am hoping to do that in the future.
