I'm currently building a Volatile Dead / Cremation Necro in 3.1 and wanted to share my findings about Cremation socketed in Sire of Shards.

The projectile count was done by me just slowing the video down in premiere and trying to eyeball the molten projectiles. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS JUST AN ESTIMATE. It gets a little difficult to see, especially with GMP, but the fact that my findings lined up pretty much perfectly with what you might expect, I think it's at least reasonably accurate for the impact of the staff / gem on the skill.

Interpret this how you will, obviously not all extra projectiles will hit, but the fact that the staff doubles the projectiles of the skill (without damage penalty) while giving other solid damage stats means that it's a pretty insane budget item, and I'd say possibly best in slot for cremation. The fact that you can throw it in a weapon swap makes for an easy bossing solution.
