And during this year's New York Auto Show, one car in particular caught the attention of visitors and has been causing quite a discussion on the Internet: The Slate Truck. The car was developed by a startup that has Jeff Bezzos, the Amazon multimillionaire, among its financiers. Its design is very minimalist, very reminiscent of the Ford Bronco. The Slate's main distinction is its slogan: "We Built It. You Make It." So, whoever buys the Slate will have access to several customization options, ranging from vinyl stickers for the bodywork to kits to transform the pickup truck into a 2-seater or a 3- or 5-door SUV for 5 passengers, as well as a convertible, similar to the Jeep Wrangler. Another big draw is its sticker price: around 20 thousand dollars, considering the now rare government discounts. For this price, the buyer takes home a very basic pickup truck, which doesn't even come with a multimedia system, radio or electric windows.
