Mt Huashan - North Peak (Day 1 - 1730)

Day 1 - After 3-4 hours of hiking, we made it up all the way up to the North Peak from the base of the mountain. Found out that there is a cable cart which could take us up here from the other side of the mountain within 30 minutes. Nevertheless the sense of accomplishment we all had was compared to none. The sun is setting and the weather is getting colder. We were not dressed properly for night hiking hence we planned to stay the night at some inn further up the mountain. Bram and Steven weren't feeling well so they decided to take the cable cart down (which after meeting up with them the next day we found out that they were enjoying hot bath and massages). We on the other hand had to rushed up to the next inn before the sun sets. None of us brought any torch or are wearing anything warm. It is a race against time as there is no lights for the paths in Mt Huashan, which made hiking at night recklessly dangerous.

We travelled to Mt. Huashan just off Xi'an in China. The mountain is known for its horrendous and 'dangerous' hike to the top. Recommended only for the strong hearted, mentally prepared, healthy individuals. Seeming we fit the criteria, the 6 of us decided to tackle this adventure. Truly remarkable experience, definitely was and will be one of the most memorable memory in our life time.
