Route Info (this may not be accurate as we are not an expert on transit route history):
This is the only route that has operated 24/7 service between Downtown Los Angeles and Montclair in San Bernardino County since 18 March 2007, replacing the overfilled route 480, which has been operated since 1988.
Since 23 January 2023, this route was modified to serve Cal Poly Pomona (short for “California Polytechnic University, Pomona) for students who want to go there safely and faster commute rather than getting off at either El Monte, West Covina or Pomona to transfer local routes to their destination. It used to serve “Cal Poly Pomona” from 7:15am to 7:15pm on weekdays as a pilot program; thankfully it was later expanded to 9:30pm since 29 October 2023.
The interior indicators will display “EB: Montclair” on weekdays except for 6:05pm to 6:10am on the next weekday or all day on weekends, which it will also display “EB: Montclair T” (even though it was supposed to display as “TC” until it was unexpectedly removed in June 2019).

Transit Vehicle History (this may not be accurate):
In 2006, Foothill Transit has ordered high-capacity buses which is NABI 60-BRT (F1600-F1629) and it was exclusively used on Silver Streak until 4 December 2020, which F1612 & F1624 are the remaining ones before the retirement.
In 2020, Foothill Transit has ordered another high-capacity vehicles which is called NFI XN60 (2900-2923) and it remains exclusive to this route, replacing the older NABI 60-BRT buses and it already began service since 28 September 2020 as 2901.

Fare History:
Ever since the introduction of Silver Streak, it was $2.45 (presumed). Later in April 2017, Foothill Transit proposed a fare hike by adding $0.25 to all routes (including this route); in October 2017, the fare went up to $2.75 ($2.50 for TAP). Later in September 2019, it was increased again to $3 ($2.75 for TAP) and later in July 2022, it went back down to $1.75, regardless of payment methods.
