Ep 17: Placing The Cabin Woodstove | Our First Family Fire

Our off-grid heat source is finally in place! After we move into the cabin, you can find us by this great big fire for at least the first month of winter.

This was not a cheap option for our cabin heat but it is going to be worth every penny. This monstrous woodstove is going to be our only source of heat in the cabin so we wanted to do it big and we wanted to do it right! Our loft bedroom isn’t going to see a chilly morning as long as we keep a fire burning.

We are thrilled the guys went ahead and got the ceiling piece of the chimney done when putting a roof on the cabin so that they didn’t have to get back on our steep roof in the rain for this install.

So far, we love the woodstove! Firewood is next on the agenda. And solar. And electrical. And plumbing. And… A moose? 😉
