Becker Survival Knives: "Value Survival Knife" by Nutnfancy

Here you'll see the groundbreaking Becker knives that established a new price point for such high performance blades. For what I do in the woods, I believe these blades will perform as well as production and semi-custom designs that cost many times as much. The Becker BK9 and BK7 are well made with high carbon 0170-6C steel, .188" thick blades tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 58-59. I have found this steel to very durable in the wilderness. The GV6H (glass filled nylon) handles are comfortable and removable as well. These knives hack, hammer, and split wood well and are almost to the level of a Cold Steel Trailmaster/Recon Scout...not quite because they're not full flat ground and are not quite 1/4" in thickness. The BK8 weighs out at 25.5oz in sheath, the BK7 is at 17.1 oz in sheath...not lightweights but in the ballpark. They were out of production with the demise of the Camillus Knife Company in 2007. Luckily KaBar has bought the rights to produce these excellent blades albeit the price has increased a bit with this brand. The Beckers were among the first blades to crank out such solid performance for around $50.
