Today's Highlights:

Kidnapped 14-year-old Zaheer Samuel has been released:
• Around 5:30am on Wednesday 18th December, 2024, Samuel, who turns 15 next week, was snatched by several men and bundled into a waiting car while on the pavement outside S & S Plant Shop along the Eastern Main Road in St Augustine.
• During the operation, the team received critical information from the Valencia Charge Room and they proceeded to Defreitas Ranch, off Quarry Road, Valencia, where they located Zaheer Samuel, who was found unharmed on the roadway near the ranch.

Days after a fire claimed the lives of MP Lisa Morris-Julian and two of her children, police officers on guard duty at the premises spotted another fire on the premises.
• Another fire broke out at the Farfan Street, Arima home hours after the fatal blaze around 11:28pm on Monday 16th December, 2024.
• The officers notified the fire services and officers from the nearby Arima fire station responded and were able to extinguish the blaze on the roof of the southern side of the house.
• Hours earlier on Monday, Morris-Julian, her 6-year-old son Jesiah, and 25-year-old daughter Xianne Julian died after a fire broke out at their home.

Suspect surrendered and handed over the murder weapon to police following the Point Fortin fatal stabbing on the night of Wednesday 18th December, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Ronald Marchan, a truck driver of Morta Trace, Tabaquite.
• Marchan was reportedly stabbed to death by a neighbor who complained about the fumes from the truck while at a supermarket's loading bay in Point Fortin on Wednesday 18th December 2024.

A man was found murdered at the side of the roadway in Mt Moriah Road, Cunupia on Wednesday 118th December, 2024.
• The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Chandradhan Ramnanan, a fabricator of Boodoo Trace, Debe.

A 22-year-old La Horquetta man has been charged with Richard McKie's murder.
• Darrion Lalla was charged with the capital offense and was expected to appear before the Master of the High Court.
• McKie, of Gokool Street in Diego Martin, was shot in the back while fleeing after allegedly robbing a fruit and vegetable mart belonging to businessman Shazard Ali at the Silver Fox Supermarket along Prophecy Avenue and Tumpuna Road in La Horquetta on Friday 6th December 2024.

Two men, one armed with a gun, robbed Coop’s carwash in Tobago on Wednesday 18th December 2024.
• One of the suspects was identified as Mark Friday from Vance River on the outskirts of Point Fortin, and traveled to Tobago last week, while the other was identified as Calvin from Patience Hill, Tobago.
• Around 1:05pm, two employees were at Coop’s Car Care City Limited located at Gulf City Lowlands Mall, when they were accosted by Friday and Calvin.
• Friday subsequently pointed the firearm at the victims, announced a robbery, and relieved the establishment of an undisclosed sum of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
