I tried the PEAK MESA update the only way a responsible mountaineer would: by using Dynamite to cook my granola bar. 🔥🍫 In this run I test whether explosions count as “fire,” tour the new desert biome (dust devils, heat, cacti), and mess with the new items—Scout Cannon, Dynamite, Balloons, Parasol, Sunscreen, Aloe—while chasing fresh badges. What the Mesa update adds: a hot, sand-blasted biome that replaced Alpine for the first week and then rotates back in, plus 10 new badges and a pile of desert-ready tools (yes, Dynamite is real). If you’re returning after launch, this patch is the one with the cannon and sunscreen/parasol combo.

How cooking works in PEAK (context for the bit): you can cook food over any open flame (not just stoves/campfires) by holding the item near the fire until it toasts—so I put Dynamite to the test. Cooking often boosts hunger/stamina effects, but some packaged foods (like granola bars) don’t gain extra value even when cooked—so do this for content, not efficiency.
