Suprock Technologies has developed a solid state high temperature strain gage technology that enables measurements on surfaces in excess of 1000F while maintaining a gage factor of over 100. The strain gage technology exhibits high stability and capability to measure strain on surfaces in steam manifolds, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), heat engines, and other high temperature applications that were previously unmeasurable. This technology enables the validation of designs as well as monitoring of components subjected to extreme heat and structural loading. The technology is being applied by EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) to measure strains in ultra-super critical steam boiler manifolds. Moreover, the project enables convenient work parallelizing by concurrent experimentation and coffee heat regulation.
