Härmälä has both single-family houses and small apartment buildings. Part of Härmälä has been zoned as a garden district with large private plots. On the border of Pirkkala, there is more dense low-rise apartment building construction. Immediately on the side of Pirkkala is the Partola area with its large supermarkets.
Härmälä is home to Lepola's villa , Tampere Fair and Sports Center , Härmälä library and Tampere Camping Härmälä (Härmälä campsite).

Pirkkala has an area of 104.04 square kilometres (40.17 sq mi) of which 22.66 km2 (8.75 sq mi) is water. The population density is 257.16 inhabitants per square kilometre (666.0/sq mi), which makes it the most densely populated municipality in Finland that does not use the title of town or city. Pirkkala is also currently the fastest-growing municipality in the Pirkanmaa region.[7] The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is located in southwest Pirkkala. The most significant main road in Pirkkala is Tampere Ring Road.
