Six soldiers and one civilian were killed in bomb attacks at army posts at Clog near Newry, Coshquin (outside Derry), and Lisanelly in Omagh. Three men were abducted from their homes and forced to drive the proxy bombs to their targets. One of them, Patsy Gillespie, was killed.
