Coloring fall leaves with colored pencils

Let's color some beautiful, colorful fall leaves using colored pencils - in this case I used Prismacolor premier. The image I used for coloring is my coloring page that you can get in my Etsy shop and print on your favorite paper (link below).


You can start by simply picking a few warm, fall colors like: green, orange, purple, red, yellow and brown and combine them as you wish. You can't really go wrong with any combination of these colors, as nature is very creative at this fall time and the spectrum of colors on the leaves is very wide.


To achieve the best results pay attention to making a good contrast. Either make the edges sharp and dark and use a contrasting lighter color for the inside "veins" on the leaf. Or vice-versa. You can make the inner "veins" dark and the edges shiny yellow, orange...

I am using Prismacolor premier colored pencils in this coloring tutorial but you can absolutely use any other colored pencils marks and find similar colors to those in my video.


Numbers of pencils used in the video:

First leaf: 942 yellow ocre, 996 black grape, 931 dark purple, 1030 raspberry, 1003 spanish orange, 996 black grape (sharpening the edges and the dark areas), 1026 greyed lavender (blending the violet layers), 915 lemon yellow (blending the yellow layers)

Second leaf: 908 dark green, 989 chartreuse, 915 lemon yellow, 1003 spanish orange, 1033 mineral orange, 913 spring green (blending the green layers), 1030 raspberry

Lemon Yellow 915
Orange 918
Poppy Red 922
Crimson Red 924
Tuscan Red 937 for the very edges of the leaf
Kelp Green 1090 for the central parts - just a little bit
