Geological Engineering is the interface between human endeavour and the natural world. Any engineering project that interacts with the Earth or Earth materials requires the input of Geological Engineers, using the foundations of Earth science, physics, chemistry and mathematics along with engineering skills, including geophysics, geochemistry and geomechanics, to investigate and model complex Earth systems at all scales and develop innovative engineering solutions for natural hazards, mineral and energy resources, environmental contamination, groundwater, surface and subsurface infrastructure, and sustainable human development on and below the surface of our planet.
