Toronto currently has a number of major infrastructure projects underway, from the Ontario line, to GO expasion, to the construction of various light rail lines - in this video we will be focussing on one of these LRTs: the Eglington Crosstown (or Line 5 Eglinton).

Once complete this line will create a number of new interchanges and will dramatically improve how people travel around Midtown Toronto by public transport - but the project is also multiple years late and way over budget.

So throughout this video I will explore why the Eglinton Crosstown will be so important for transit connectvitiy in Toronto - but I'll also look at some of the projects misteps - including the controversial decision to build the line as light rail rather than a subway or even an elevated light metro.
