The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs, LASODA, has held a Stakeholders’ Forum to strengthen partnerships for effective and inclusive disability service delivery. The forum took place on December 22, 2025, at Bola Memorial School, Ikeja, with key stakeholders from across the disability sector in attendance.

Speaking on behalf of the General Manager of LASODA, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the Director of Medical Rehabilitation Appliances and Mobility Aid Department, Mr. Viaronu Folorunsho, appreciated stakeholders for their support and called for stronger collaboration to advance the agency’s mandate.

In a keynote address, Professor Jubril Jawando of Lagos State University identified low funding, poor data, and limited access to resources as major challenges in disability service delivery. He emphasized the role of Public-Private Partnerships, global collaboration, and the media in promoting inclusive services, while Professor Chinwe Nwanna of the University of Lagos stressed transparency and clear role definition among service providers.

The forum featured interactive discussions and experience sharing, and concluded with a vote of thanks by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Sonubi Omolode, who commended participants for their contributions toward improving disability services in Lagos State.
