Basic review of the Athearn BNSF-40-2. Covering the Sounds by SoundTraxx, Decoder Functions, LED's & Details. Quick Note: When moving the loco back and forth, I should have moved in individual speed steps. Instead, I moved in speed steps of 10 (Using an NCE DCC Controller). Couple that with the fact that one of the wheels was off the track, it gave the appearance the loco isn't a smooth runner. My mistake! In does indeed creep smoothly right from speed step 1. I've made a note of that for next time. My intention was to bump up the speed so you could hear the engine RPM's rise.
