Long before Joseph Frank Pesci was a movie star, in fact as a child singer he appeared regularly on a local TV show, Startime Kids, along with Connie Francis. Pesci was from Belleville, New Jersey; he knew Tommy DeVito and Frankie Valli of that town's Young Lovers. Joe was also an acquaintance of the Royal Teens' Bob Gaudio. He introduced all three, a meeting that resulted in the creation of the Four Seasons.

In the 60's, Pesci played guitar with Joey Dee & the Starliters (of "Peppermint Twist" fame),
gigging with them at the Peppermint Lounge until he left to record the solo LP this track is from.

From 1970 to '76, Joe and Frank Vincent were an Abbott & Costello type comedy team. Fourteen years after they split, Vincent was on the big screen, bloodied and captive in a car trunk while Pesci gleefully "stabbed" him with his mom's carving knife. Stabbed many times. In the trunk. With a knife. (Did I win CLUE just now?)
