In this tutorial I show you how to defeat the Raging Conchfly in Hollow Knight: Silksong using a focused build and strategic positioning. This fight can feel chaotic at first, but once you learn to read its attack patterns and punish its openings, it becomes much more manageable.

Build Used

Crest: Reaper Crest – good Range and predictable downstrike

Silk Skill: Sharp Dart – great for repositioning, evasion, and sneaking in hits from behind

Tools: Weavelight – speeds up Silk regeneration for more frequent skill use

Defense: Fractured Mask – improves survivability in a long fight

Attack Patterns & Strategy

Vertical Drills:
Raging Conchfly often dives straight up or down, drilling into the ground or ceiling. Dash left or right to avoid the impact, then close in and land multiple strikes while it’s stationary and recovering.

Horizontal Charges:
When it sweeps horizontally across the arena, jump over it and use a downward strike as it passes beneath you. This keeps you out of harm’s way while dealing safe damage.

Conch Cutter Projectile:
The Conchfly will sometimes pause mid-air and fire a spinning conch cutter across the room. This is your chance to land a quick melee hit, then dash to a safe distance to make dodging the projectile easier.

Sharp Dart Utility:
Sharp Dart is invaluable in this fight. Use it to pass through the Conchfly when you are cornered or low on space. It’s also effective right before a Conch Cutter attack, as it positions you behind the Conchfly and out of the projectile’s path.

Final Tips
Patience and positioning are the keys to this fight. Focus on baiting predictable attacks, punish only when the Conchfly commits to a move, and always be prepared to reposition. Once you get the rhythm down, you’ll control the flow of the battle rather than reacting to it.
