POKHRITAR | Offbeat Destination | Kurseong

This is an untold story about a village where clouds play hide and seek throughout the year. If you wish to hug them there is a chance of getting drenched.You might lose your destination in the tangled maze of clouds. That’s all about POKHRITAR, a quiet village in the lap of the Himalayas.Once you reach here,clouds will welcome you. Spend some time to explore the village,the people and their life & culture. You may feel delighted to see the Kanchejungha from here,but it depends on your luck. Pokhritar is a village of Darjeeling dist,just 17 km away from Kurseong.This small village is located at an altitude of 7000 ft. Pokhritar is yet to be explored by the tourists. Home stay facilities are yet to be developed.A joint venture has been initiated by the forest dept.along with the localites for providing accomodation. We spent a few days at Pokhritar being favoured with a chance of sharing the room of a local inhabitant. It was an unforgetable experience of our life.
