The sad plight of honest IAS officer's, isn't just limited to Uttar Pradesh and suspended Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Durga Shakti Nagpal. Retired IAS officer V Balasubramanian has been targeted for daring to act against coffee planters in Karnataka. The retired IAS officer is being slapped with a breach of privilege motion for taking on former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda who has backed coffee planters that had encroached upon 11 lakh acres of government land. Balasubramanian, said, "I got a call from the Chief Ministers Office asking me not to visit the coffee plantations in Chikmagalur and I was told that there will be a law and order problem if I go there." But like Durga Shakti Nagpal, Balasubramanian also getting the backing of many who are not new to the pressure tactics of the political class. Different state but a similar case of the political class trying to muzzle those who dare to stand up to the corrupt but even as retired office has leveled some serious charges against the Karnataka Government, the Government has been mum on the issue so far.
