My turtle became gravid rather unexpectedly, so I constructed a suitable nesting box immediately. I'm not an expert on nesting boxes, but I have read that for many aquatic turtles of this size and species, a large cement mixing tub makes a good container for your substrate. The frame serves to keep it elevated. The hardware netting and acrylic sides serve to keep the turtles from escaping.
