Detailed & easy to follow 2 colors macrame coaster tutorial with a lot of tips to help you make a perfect round & flat round macrame coaster. This tutorial is suitable for total beginners.

Things that you need:
- 2 color strings
- Comb
- Scissors
- Measuring tape (if you don’t have, refer to the tips at the end of the video to learn how to measure with your body)
- A flat surface (floor / table / I LOVE using a cork board)
- Crochet hook / pen / chopstick
- Something to secure your coaster to the flat surface - any kind of tape / pins

Instruction for string:
Type: Single strand / twisted 3mm cotton cord

*Based on the following coaster size:
Inner circle diameter (spiral): 11cm / 4"
Outer circle (with 3 cm / 1.2" fringe): 17cm / 6.7"
Total length: ~20m / 780"

*Cut the following length of string (feel free to substitute with any 2 colors that you like):
1 x 165cm / 65" (white)
5 x 88cm / 35" (3 white, 2 purple)
7 x 80cm / 31” (6 white, 1 purple)
6 x 60cm / 24” (4 white, 2 purple)
6 x 50cm / 20” (4 white, 2 purple)
5 x 16cm / 6” (3 white, 2 purple)
— Depending on how tight you tie the strings, the measurement above might vary slightly. The strings above should be more than enough for your coaster, you might need even less strings
— Instead of pre-cutting the strings, you can also add the string following the formula = 2 * the next lower cord length + a couple of cm
