Napoléon Fourneaux, born May 21, 1808, at Léard (Ardennes), originally a watch-maker, improved the Accordion. In 1830 he settled in Paris and introduced great improvements in the manufacture of reed instruments.
At the exhibition of 1844 he received a silver medal for his 'orgues expressives.' He died at Aubanton (Aisne), July 19, 1846.
