Stress has become a major problem in today's society. It is the underlying cause of many mental and physical disorders, and it impacts all aspects of our lives. The rate at which people are feeling overwhelmed by stress is steadily climbing, but fortunately there are ways we can manage it. One way to reduce stress is to find a healthy way to release it physically, such as running or yoga. Another way to reduce stress is to practice gratitude, which can be as easy as mentally identifying things we are grateful for. Here are some ways that people have found to manage their stress. Meditation - A study published in the journal Scientific Reports suggests that meditation may reduce cardiovascular reactivity, the body's response to stress. Meditation as a way to decrease guilt - People who meditate regularly have less guilt than non-meditators, according to a study published in the Journal of Religion and Health. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of California, Davis, found that people with low levels of guilt were more likely to practice transcendental meditation or mindfulness meditation. The results were then confirmed in another larger study conducted by researchers at Harvard University
