caravan window delamination fix

Описание к видео caravan window delamination fix

A super quick video I made just so you can see there's hope If like me you notice your caravan windows letting in water? then there's a chance it's delaminated somewhere. meaning the two pieces of plastic have separated. This usually happens in older caravans where the glue has just deteriorated and come apart through heat contraction expansion, As you see in the video, It comes apart easily, The biggest challenge which I don't think I got that right first time was, How much of a bead of silicone do I apply and how much squash of the two parts do I need to use without it squeezing all the glue out into the window cavity, Please remember the plastic internal sheet will not be flat,(my first mistake ) and the use of soft clamps was my second. I just applied weight to the plastic and let it be, I think that's where the silicone separated slightly, WEAK clamps would fix this. Happy days now I'm confident I'm not going to leave my window on the motorway next holiday and when it rains, it's sealed. when the suns out, it will flex. edit, so I used strong silicone sealant to use as a bonding agent however the proper adhesive to use recommended by the pros is a two-part epoxy, chemical name,METHYL-METHACRYLATE , just remember researching drying times for each product as you'll need time to apply and set both pieces correctly, extra bonus video, restoration and painting,    • caravan window restoring
