The magic involves first tearing a certain number of cards in half, take one half card and keep it somewhere safe. Next everyone start moving the order of the cards according to the magician's instructions (which includes taking the number of cards out of the deck according to the number of characters in the guests' names (2 or 3 characters normally in Chinese names) and put them in the middle of the deck; another step involves girls tossing two half cards out and guys one half card. Another important step was switching one half card with the person on your right (or someone else) almost at the end, and in Xu Kai's case, the magician switched his card with Xu Kai. There are other steps which involves putting the half card on the top to the bottom, and tossing cards out. Eventually everyone is left with one card, and the aim of the magic is to have that last half card match the first half card that was taken out at the very beginning. Pretty impressive magic considering the scope and the complicated changes to the cards. Our magic loving Xu Kai was amazed as you can tell!
