Everything manifested in the universe may be seen as following the will of the universe. Or, nature’s way. The phrase in Bible, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done..” seems to correspond to such viewpoint. Yet, living our life, we may find us suffering every now and then. We may even notice it is due to our own making - ie, delusion, or useless use of our mind. If such is the case, how may we follow the will of the universe so that we can find the right path?
In meditation, a key principle is to be aware of what is really going on. Not what appears to be going on. It is practiced by letting go of our mind, and accept what is really happening - as it is. In short, it is to notice our delusion when we have it. Then, find ways to cut delusion. It is a practice to be mastered to have a calm and quiet mind to be live our life.
After years of efforts, I found that the phrase, “Thy will be done,” to do just that as the essence of realizing the truth. So, I summarized in 2010 at my home page now in archive (in Japanese)*
In this video, the focus is how to cut the delusion - not just in meditation (in just sitting) but practicing in a dynamic process of living life.
Just yesterday I found in “The book of Joy,” The Dalai Lama was quoted as saying, ”Especially today,; there is not much focus on inner values in education…Then, …, we become self-centered…. With a self-centered attitude, you become distanced from others, then distrust, then feel insecure, then fear, then anxiety, then frustration, then anger, then violence.”
Here in YouTube, I posted few videos that having a “calm and quiet mind” is critical to make a good judgment. But what I did not describe there was how to practice at the very moment when any meaningless thoughts (delusion) arises.
While we may train to have a state of having a calm and quiet mind, a pragmatic way to practice in daily life is, whenever we notice us in delusion, immediately pay attention to breathing. As if to bring our will power aligned with the will power of the universe, which means even stop breathing for about 15-20 seconds as we may pay attention to what is really happening then and there. Each person's situation may be different. Yet, with diligent practice, we may realize that, if there is a will, there is a way!
I remember an old man running a marathon was asked; how can you do this? His response; I do it, so I can.
Best wishes!

PS
Scientifically speaking, when you stop breathing for a while, your body and your whole consciousness become attentive to what is going on - to be alive. This is because your biological response is to figure out ways to respond to the lack of oxygen as if your body to self-regulate all cells to stay away from the danger. Since there is no way for our mind to help to do so, it becomes quiet. So, no mind, or empty mind.
As you regain a quiet state, there is no self to be found, but simply witness what is happening at the moment. Then, you may find there is no delusion.
Once you find the knack, you may realize more quiet peaceful awakened moment. As mentioned elsewhere, belly breathing may help strengthen the will power to trigger such power.

From Archives (in Japanese) summary “Thy will be done” I wrote in Japanese in 2010:
https://web.archive.org/web/201410272...
This is a translation into English (part):
"When I am in front of God, and if He is to show his power to me, is there any comment I will make? Of course not! Let it be, as it is! Thy will be done!"
So, facing God, my intellect will become quiet (no self) and "I" becomes an agent (of nature, Law) such that there is only nature's way to manifest itself. It is as if was before I was thrown out of the garden of Eden.
Although our brain (or intellect/mind) may help us to live in our society well, solving the last hurdle of our being cannot be cleared by our brain. In short, the answer to the ultimate question to live our life is only realized beyond the mind’s ability. Since this point is about the root of all of us as a human, the boundary that protect our mind has to be broken. If "you" realize this, such phrase as “without cutting delusion, one will find nirvana” can be realized. (Yes, it is cutting without cutting. We realize delusion was just a fake.)
