U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Monday (January 12) arrested a comedian and protest singer known as Robby Roadsteamer, who was wearing a giraffe costume, during a protest outside a federal building in Minneapolis.

Video showed agents forcing him to the ground as protesters shouted at the officers and moved in to confront them.

Earlier video showed Roadsteamer and other demonstrators dancing in the street, including alongside another protester dressed in a frog costume, while singing songs against ICE.

Elsewhere in Minneapolis, residents faced off with additional ICE agents and some were seen being tear-gassed.

Local resident Christian Molina said agents struck his car as they moved through the area. "They took to the left and that's when they hit my car," Molina said, adding that he confronted agents after getting out of his vehicle.

Tension erupted in Minnesota last week when a federal immigration officer shot and killed Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of three who was observing the federal law enforcement action. U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused Good of domestic terrorism, saying she was attempting to ram the officer with her vehicle, while critics of the Trump administration have staged a series of protests to denounce the shooting as unjustified.

Minnesota officials have pointed to bystander video they say showed Good's vehicle turning away from the agent as he fired.
