Kumano Kodo is a network of pilgrimage trails passing through the South Kii Peninsula and the three Kumano Grand Shrines.
It’s 1000-year history stretches back to the Heian period.
We will be heading south from Osaka along the Kii-ji route.
Over 100 Oji shrines line the Kumano Kodo, offering a place for worship and rest.
Nine reside in Wakayama City, welcoming new visitors as they pass.
